Twitter has been on a roll lately regarding new awesome premium features and it’s honestly quite exciting, especially for content creators.
Remember a while back when the Australian government insisted that Facebook and Google gave some sort of remuneration to their local news channels for their daily content and Facebook threw a hissy fit threatening to ban those news channels from posting their content? That wasn’t so long ago and hopefully they have resolved this issue as mature adults… Twitter has been anticipating these new trends from its side by introducing a new feature called “Tip Jar”. As a content creator on Instagram, you can make money off product placement but you don’t get directly paid by Instagram - it’s usually the brands who pay you.
Twitter stated: “You drive the conversation on Twitter and we want to make it easier for you to support each other beyond Follows, Retweets, and Likes. Today, we're introducing Tip Jar – a new way for people to send and receive tips.”. Even if this feature is still being tested out, we can only appreciate the direction and efforts from Twitter to offer content creators their fair share as some of them are heavily involved on the platform and deserve to be supported financially for their content especially when they go viral.
