District 2020 is the Future of Expo 2020 which ended in March 2022. It will repurpose 80% of the Expo’s built environment into a mixed use community.It is a smart and sustainable mixed use community focusing on a global and integrated community lifestyle. District 2020 will provide visitors and residents a modern work and lifestyle environment and will cater to the needs of residents and workers alike. It is going to be a human centric, innovation driven, urban community.
It will not only have residences but also have office spaces for business. There will be cycling and jogging tracks, educational facilities as well as hospitality attractions. District 2020 will be fully walkable as well as have autonomous vehicle routes to provide environmentally friendly mobility.

District 2020 is expected to contribute to Dubai's Smart cities Initiative and will include Internet Of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence ( AI), BlockChain and other technologies. The start up division, “Scale2Dubai” has recently partnered with prominent entities to support growth of startup ecosystem in the district. This program is currently accepting applications from local and international startups and small businesses through their website. District 2020 has also partnered with UK based innovation and accelerator, Connected Places Catapult.
District 2020 is yet another example of Dubai’s vision of sustainability and growth.
